You can direct Hometown's reporting

How it works

Each Hometown News Guide has a “Community Questions” section where you can ask any question you have about that issue.

Then, other users can upvote your question if they also want to know the answer. When a question gets about 5 upvotes, our small but mighty team investigates and responds right there in the News Guide so everyone can see.

Finding the answer might involve reaching out to the people and organizations involved, digging through city council meeting minutes, or just doing a fancy Google search.

Question guidelines

We do a basic review of all user questions before they appear in a News Guide to make sure they are

  • Actually a question and not a comment.
  • On topic
  • Constructive

We'll let you know by email when your question is reviewed and is live. If there's an issue, we'll let you know about that too.

About these guidelines

These guidelines help Hometown stay on track towards our mission of helping people learn about the important things going on in our city. They are a work in progress and we'll be updating them over time as we learn what works and what doesn't.
